  1. Why Higher Education in India is a Great Choice?
  2. India is one of the largest higher education system in the world in terms of the number of institutions, and the second largest system in terms of the number of students. The country offers three main types of tertiary institution in India.

    • Universities and University-level Institutions,
    • Colleges and
    • Diploma-awarding Institutions.
    These are categorized by funding source: Central Government, State Government and Private Players. The system boats of around 37000 colleges and more than 600 universities which comprises of Central Universities, State Universities, State Private universities, Deemed to be Universities and Institutions of National Importance (IITs, IIMs, NITs and IISERs are four Institutions established under various State legislations).
    First 200 of the Fortune 500 companies regularly participate in campus placements in various institutions in India, particularly IITs and IIMs. Many Indian Educational institutions including IITs, IIMs, IISc, NITs, and AIIMS are internationally known for high standards of research and teaching. The quality parameters in the institutions are monitored by UGC, AICTE, NAAC, MCI, DCI, NCI etc.
  3. Are the Programs offered by Indian Institutions recognized?
  4. Yes, the Universities/Institutions offering Professional and Technical courses in India need recognition by the national and statutory bodies established for the maintenance of quality standards in higher education system. Indian Degrees are recognized worldwide through these respective recognizing bodies.

  5. What Conditions do I have to meet, if I want to study in India ?
  6. For admissions in undergraduate programs, you must have passed Senior Secondary / GCE 'A' level/ any of the examination equivalent to 12 years of Schooling in India with sufficient knowledge of English.

    For admissions in post graduation programmes you must have passed the graduation with minimum of 50% in concerned discipline. One of the subject should be English. For admission in doctoral courses you must have passed post graduation in relevant subjects.

  7. When does the Indian Academic Year Start ?
  8. The Academic Year in India usually starts in the month of July. However, in some of the Institutions, the Academic year begins in the month of August also.

  9. I have no clue about India. How do I find the right Institute ?
  10. Under the "Study in India" campaign, EdCIL periodically leads a group of 15 to 20 select Indian institutions to 20 odd targeted destination cities across the South Asia and African countries

VARIOUS PLACEMENT SCHEMES THAT EDCIL (INDIA) LIMITED OFFERS TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Self-Financing Scheme (SFS)

Admissions are offered to deserving foreign students, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs,) Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) on self financing basis in Under Graduate/Post Graduate/Doctoral Programs etc, in select Indian Institutions associated with EdCIL (India) Limited in the disciplines of English Language, Engineering, Architecture, Medicine, Dentistry, Management, Science, Arts, Commerce, Agriculture, Teachers Training, Para-Medical, Nursing, Hotel Management etc. A large number of Students from Afghanistan, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Botswana, China, Canada, Egypt, Ethiopia, Fiji, Ghana, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Madagascar, Mauritius, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Rwanda, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Surinam, Syria, Thailand, UAE, Uganda, United Kingdom, USA, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia and Zimbabwe have been successfully placed by EdCIL under this scheme so far.

Scholarship Program

EdCIL (India) Limited has been successfully executing the Government of India's Scholarship Programs for students of Afghanistan, Bhutan and Nepal and has been assisting them in pursuing their dreams in Higher and Technical Education in India. Under these Schemes, Students are provided financial assistance primarily towards tuition fee, admission fee etc by the respective Governments.

SPDC : SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR DIASPORA CHILDREN

The Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) was introduced by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) in the year 2006.

SPDC 2016-17

SPDC is applicable for undergraduate studies in Professional and Non-professional Courses. The Programme is applicable to Indian Diaspora from 66 identified countries , having larger concentration of Persons of Indian origin. Scholarship is provided to 150 selected students in the categories –

  • NRIs
  • PIOs
  • Children of Indian workers in ECR countries studying outside India
  • Children of ECR countries studying in India.        
Scholarship amount upto the extent of 75% of Institutional Economic Cost (IEC) -including tuition fee, hostel fees, other charges and excluding mess charges- is admissible to a student upto a maximum of USD 4000 (DASA admitted students) &USD 3600 (non DASA admitted students) per year. RECRUITMENT OF INDIAN FACULTY / EXPERTS TO FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES

EdCIL facilitates sharing of expertise and human resources for mutual growth and development in specific sector of education through expert faculty and teachers.

EdCIL has extensive experience in facilitating Recruitment of faculty, teachers and experts in diverse fields to various countries across Asia and Africa. For identification of suitable faculty and education expert, EdCIL maintains a databank of resource persons and closely associates with various academic Institutions across the country, being the only Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The Services Include

  • Identification of prospective candidate matching the requirement of the clients country
  • Screening  and short listing of candidates
  • Organizing interviews
  • Facilitating the signing of contract between the selected candidates and client
  • Logistics arrangements for the  selected candidates

EdCIL offers its professional services under the following steps:-

  • Stage- I: Pre Interview Stage
  • Stage-II: Interview Stage
  • Stage-III: Post Interview Stage

Stage- I: Pre Interview Stage

  • Preparation of job profile for the post
  • Receipt of application against the advertisement given in News papers and EdCIL’s website
  • Preliminary screening
  • First level short listing of applicants
  • Tabulations of all the screened applications
  • Second level short listing of applications by an EdCIL screening/expert committee, based on the specified criteria
  • Final short-listing of candidates in consultation with the client
  • Issuing interview letters to the short-listed candidates to appear for personal interview at  EdCIL’s corporate  office

Stage-II: Interview Stage

  • Verifying  credentials and certificates of the candidates
  • Constitution of selection committees with client’s representative as Chairman and required Experts
  • Making all logistic arrangements at the interview venue
  • Preparation and signing of Minutes of selection committee meeting. The Selection Committee may draw a panel of suitable candidates for further consideration

Stage-III: Post Interview Stage

  • Assisting the client in negotiating terms and conditions of service with the selected candidate
  • Facilitate the signing of contract of employment
  • Issue of  appointment letter  to the selected candidates  after due approval of client and  further making  correspondence  with the selected candidate indicating details with regard to his/her departure and other general information
  • Facilitate early relieving of selected candidate by his/her current employer for taking up assignment
  • Organizing  pre-departure briefing  for  the selected candidate
  • Organizing visa, air tickets, foreign exchange etc. for early departure of selected candidates

PROJECT EXECUTION PERIOD

  • The time required for completing the Execution process would be around 8-10 weeks after the award of the assignment by the client.
